Description
This service adds a backup power supply (battery) to your access control system, ensuring that unlocking and card reading functions remain operational during mains power outages. We calculate the required battery capacity based on the system’s total power consumption and install an automatic switching/charging module to ensure a seamless transition during power failures, maintaining uninterrupted access management.
Upon order confirmation, please provide an inventory of your existing access control equipment and the total power rating. We will source a compatible battery and charge controller. During on-site installation, we connect the backup power in parallel to the main power output and configure the charging voltage and float charge parameters. We then test the power switchover time (millisecond range) and battery runtime.
After installation, we add a battery status indicator to the controller panel for easy monitoring. We also advise on performing periodic discharge tests (e.g., every six months) to maintain battery health. The handover documentation includes battery specifications and recommended replacement intervals.
