Replacement with extended-latch lock bodies for entry doors

Description

This service addresses shallow latch engagement caused by excessive gaps between the door frame and the door leaf by providing extended latch bolts and modifying strike plates (deepening the recess). Extended latches increase locking depth and pry resistance while ensuring effective engagement even if the door undergoes slight deformation.
When placing an order, please measure the current latch extension length and the depth of the strike plate opening. We will prepare an extended latch kit from the same brand. On-site replacement involves removing the lock body’s side screws, extracting the original latch assembly, installing the extended component, and adjusting the internal drive mechanism’s travel. The corresponding strike plate will also be replaced with a deep-recess model or fitted with a spacer.
After installation, we perform a closing test to verify that the latch fully passes through the strike plate and protrudes visibly on the other side. We also test the travel distance when operating the latch via the key and handle. A comparison of the old and new latch dimensions is provided upon handover.
