Description
This service is designed for doors equipped with closers, addressing coordination issues between closing speed and lock mechanism engagement. The interaction between the closer and the lock affects closing force and the smoothness of the latch engagement; improper adjustment can cause the door to bounce or create noise from the lock striking the strike plate. We provide comprehensive adjustments, ranging from hydraulic valve tuning to latch bevel alignment.
Please provide the door closer brand and door weight range when ordering so we can estimate the necessary adjustment parameters. Upon arrival, our technician observes the full closing cycle, noting speed differences between the buffering phase and the final latching phase. We then adjust the closer’s two-stage speed valves while simultaneously fine-tuning the latch extension and strike plate position to ensure the door latches smoothly upon contact with the frame.
We conduct multiple tests at both slow and normal closing speeds until the lock engages fully and silently every time. We also check if the closer’s back-pressure makes the handle difficult to operate when the door is open, adjusting the mounting angle if necessary. A record of the adjustment and alignment between the door closer and the lock body is provided upon service completion.
